Whitetail Deer Show-August 23rd

The Township of Assiginack’s first ever Whitetail Deer Show is almost upon us- August 23rd! We have so many exciting things happening at the show.

Keith Beasley

It starts with a lecture at 9 am with Keith Beasley of the hit tv show ‘Canada In The Rough’ and ‘Ontario Monster Whitetails’ magazine. If you want to come and hear from an expert in how to hunt the big buck. Separate tickets for the lecture are $5 each.

The show starts at 11 am. We just secured a world class archer who will be demonstrating in the ball field adjacent to the arena! We have vendors selling firearms, ammunition, various displays including taxidermy, Manitoulin Gun Club, MNR and more!

Not only that, we have some great contests going on that have cash prizes! We have a BB gun target contest for youth 7 and over, and a separate category for adults. We supply the BB guns, you show us how good your aim and accuracy is! This event runs from 11 am – 2 pm, so make sure you give it a try. Cash prize for each division!
We have a certified FROW measurer coming in to measure shed antlers for the ‘Biggest Shed Antler’ contest. All entries of antlers must be in by noon. The winner of this walks away with a $100 cash prize!

Bring in your ‘Best Trail Camera’ photo for a cash prize of $25. Bring in your ‘Best Hunting’ photo of you with your big buck, the gang at the hunt camp or another fun deer hunt photo and enter to win a $25 cash prize!
If you hunt, you have camouflage or blaze orange clothing. Bring in your unwanted hunting clothing and drop it off at our ‘Camo Swap’ table where you can swap it with some other clothing or purchase someone else’s at a cheap price.

Do you have that set of big buck antlers hanging on your wall that you wish others could see your success?  Bring them in and put them on display so that everyone may have viewing pleasure. Please note, they are securely mounted to the wall, have tables in front of them and have barriers 6' out so no one can actually go that close and touch them.

There are refreshments available, ample parking, and guaranteed to be a great time, so be sure to drop by and check out our Whitetail Deer Show.

Show runs from 11 am – 4 pm, admission is adults $5, children 12 and over $3, and children under 12 free. For further information call the municipal office at 705 859-3196.
