Snowshoes to Borrow

Are you looking for a fun family activity to do outside this winter? Why not borrow some snowshoes from the Township and head out to McLean's Park and trek on one of our four new trails, groomed as well this season!

Thanks to some funding from RBC and Healthy Kids, Healthy Community, we now have 80 pairs of snowshoes to lend out to island residents.   They range in sizes from 17" up to 30", for kids as young as 3 years old up to adults.

We don't charge for you to borrow them, but do get you to fill out a contract and leave a credit card number, which we return to you upon safe return of the snowshoes.

We lent many out last year as families enjoyed hiking through the snow, especially when it was a nice sunny day.

McLean's Park has a brand new parking lot and the new trails range in distance from .75 km up to 2.5 km for you to choose from as well as operational washroom facilities.  There is a covered pavilion with picnic tables to rest at as well.

For more information or to reserve some snowshoes, email us at or call at 705 859-3196.
