QDMA (Quality Deer Management Association) and the Township of Assiginack have partnered to run a contest during the week of rifle season with cash prizes.
The QDMA's mission is to ensure the future of white-tailed deer, wildlife habitat and our hunting heritage. Among the QDMA's current members are nearly 3,000 of the world’s leading deer management professionals. Their collective knowledge enables the QDMA and its members to remain at the forefront of deer biology, research, and management.
The local chapter of QDMA and the Assiginack Township are hosting a contest to encourage hunters to bring in their does, bucks or fawns for the purpose of collecting data. In return the hunter’s name will go into a draw for each of the 3 categories of buck, doe and fawn and a $100 cash prize will be awarded to a winner in each division.
The contest will run on Tuesday November 22nd and Thursday November 24th from 7-9 pm at White’s Shell garage where members of QDMA will be there to weigh and measure the deer.
Manitoulin QDMA branch is always looking for new members.
